DAA, or D-aspartic acid
It is a type of amino acid obtained from the physiological processes of our body. There are three main places where these physiological processes occur:
- pituitary gland,
- testicles,
- hypothalamus.
It is not an essential amino acid from the point of view of our body, because it is able to synthesize it on its own. D-aspartic acid is produced physiologically through the so-called conversion , or transformation. In this case, it refers to human physiology and the transformation from L-aspartic acid. The functions of the basic form of this acid before the transformation can safely include detoxification functions. Aspartic acid has the ability to break down ammonia. This action, in turn, protects the human central nervous system from the harmful effects of the toxicity of this compound. Previously, tests were also carried out on the administration of aspartic acid salts to training people as a means of increasing both physical and mental efficiency. Of course, the studies had the expected effect and this could be counted among the positives of the agent.
DAA in this form is a strong stimulant of sexual activity processes, influencing, among other things, sperm production in men. The effects of its action in the sexual sphere are mainly:
- Increases libido.
- Improves erection.
- Increases testosterone levels.
- Prolongs orgasm.
In part, this is due to the effect of DAA on the level of lutropin in the body . Lutropin (LH) is a so-called luteinizing hormone, naturally produced by the pituitary gland. In the case of women, it stimulates the production of progesterone (colloquially and popularly called lutein). Progesterone is a female steroid hormone produced by the corpus luteum. In men, it stimulates the production and thus increases the level of testosterone. This happens through the so-called Leydig cells located in the testicles (interstitial space of the testicles). How does this happen? Well, on the surface of the cells responsible for the production of the male hormone (Leydig cells), i.e. testosterone, there are receptors that, when bound to lutropin, lead to an increase in the level of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP). cAMP is an activator of processes aimed at activating glycogen phosphorylase (catalyzing the detachment of glucose molecules from the glycogen chain). The binding of lutropin to molecules on the surface of Leydig cells determines the degree of intensification of testosterone production processes in men.
DAA crosses the blood -> brain barrier, which is why it is able to affect precisely defined parts of the central nervous system. On the other hand, DAA itself, in order to stimulate and bind lutropin with Leydig cell receptors, binds with the so-called NMDA receptors (N-methyl-D-aspartate). NMDA have the ability to conduct ions of elements such as calcium, potassium, or sodium. Stimulation of these receptors results in increased production of the gonadotropin hormone, and then lutropin itself.
DAA effectively increases dopamine levels in the body.
It is a neurotransmitter of neurons in the central nervous system. We are mainly interested in its role in muscles, so we will limit its scope of action to the subcortical system. Here, dopamine is responsible for muscle tension and motor coordination. It is also called the "happiness hormone", which externally manifests itself in euphoric states and a feeling of mental comfort.
DAA also affects GABA levels , somewhat increasing them. GABA acts as a neurotransmitter with an inhibitory effect on excitability. The optimal level of this compound allows for better muscle relaxation and reduced nervousness manifested by "nervous movements" of the limbs.
The studies were of course conducted on a statistical basis with the testing group. A general increase in testosterone levels by an average of 33% was noted, although it is known that some people may not experience changes in this area or not feel them at all - there is always such a possibility.
Taking DAA as an anabolic testosterone booster:
Training days:
Initially about 2.5g (up to 4g) – just before training.
Non-training days:
Initially about 2.5g (up to 4g) – in the morning.
Dosing is done in single portions to extract the full potential of DAA in the form of a supplement. This is also presented in the same way as in the case of creatine, i.e. cyclically. A cycle on the anabolic testosterone booster DAA should take place in the range of 4-12 weeks. It is known that initially in terms of the duration of the cycle and dosage, it is necessary to proceed gradually and not exceed the maximum dose. After the cycle on DAA, there should be a break of several weeks, depending on how long our cycle lasted.
Please also remember that DAA is intended for men only!
