When I was planning the expedition, I was convinced (based on previous experience and advice from dieticians) that without prior professional physical training I would lose about 11 kg during the expedition and my muscles would be seriously weakened. I was mentally prepared for such a situation, but I was afraid that it could jeopardize the achievement of the primary goal of Poland Trek: to travel across Poland from its highest peak to the Baltic Sea using my own muscle power.

During previous expeditions I used occasional vitamin and protein supplements. However, this time I decided to take ActivLab products daily. I carefully selected the mix of vitamins and tablets to avoid injuries, muscle fatigue and joint problems. During the expedition I only had one serious pain in my right hand and it was probably related to too much pressure on the venous system. In other aspects I was absolutely surprised that I could kayak about 90 km per day without any problems, and on the longest day I paddled from 05:15 in the morning to 23:00 in the evening with only very short breaks.

Throughout the entire trip, I ate only ActivLab Master Bars during the day, occasionally supplemented with nuts and dried fruit. And I was never hungry or lacking energy.

During the first two weeks I drank Master Drink, BCAA Xtra Drink and Isoactive isotonic drink concentrates. In the last week I felt that I was losing weight and decided to have a daily portion of 6 large glasses of protein preparations. As a result, I lost only about 6 kg from 78 to 72 kg. This is the optimal weight for my height of 180 cm. My muscles withstood the load and I currently feel great. I must mention that I am a very specific type of athlete. Namely, I regularly put extreme strain on my body, while not training regularly and not preparing specifically for annual expeditions.

As for taste, all the products were very good, I especially liked the aforementioned bars. The only reservations I could have were about the orange drinks. Personally, I would prefer a stronger, sour aftertaste, more similar to real oranges.

To sum up, ActivLab products made it much easier for me to endure the hardships of the expedition, and perhaps by saving me from injuries they enabled its happy ending.

PS

I followed the instructions on the packaging very carefully, gradually increasing the doses of the products I took. Fortunately, I did not use up all the products I received, because this year I have a few more physical challenges, including Death March (100 km run/walk in 24 hours). I took part in it two years ago, but unfortunately I dropped out due to a tendon injury (pubalgia). I hope that this time ActivLab products will help me successfully complete this challenge.
