On the first day of September we head towards autumn flavors.
Warming millet with avocado and tomatoes is a perfect idea for a second breakfast .
Turmeric, thanks to its anti-inflammatory and antiviral effects, will help our body fight off upcoming colds. It will also take care of our metabolism by accelerating digestion.

Ingredients:
1/3 cup dry millet (carbohydrates - 32 g)
1 small avocado or half a large one (saturated fat - 2.5 g)
¼ onion
about 7 cherry tomatoes
A handful of pumpkin seeds (protein - 4.5 g)
Olive oil
A pinch of salt
A pinch of black pepper
Pinch of chili pepper flakes (optional)
Half a teaspoon of turmeric
Avocado oil (optional)
Preparation:
- Pour boiling water over the groats, add a pinch of salt and half a teaspoon of olive oil, and cook covered according to the instructions on the package. Set the finished groats aside to cool.
- Heat olive oil in a pan, add chopped onion, a little salt and fry until golden brown. Then add chopped tomatoes.
- Mix the cooked groats with onion and tomatoes, add pumpkin seeds and sliced avocado. Finally, season with turmeric, black pepper and chili pepper. You can also use avocado oil.
