This product contains 400 μg of methylated folic acid. This form is well absorbed and highly bioavailable.
Folic acid supplementation is especially recommended:
- for women before, during and after pregnancy (folates contribute to the growth of maternal tissues during pregnancy and are involved in the process of cell division),
- to maintain the proper functioning of the immune system,
- to maintain proper homocysteine metabolism.
Low maternal folate status is a risk factor for the development of neural tube defects in the developing fetus. The beneficial effect is obtained with a supplemental daily intake of 400 μg of folic acid for at least one month before conception and up to three months after conception.
